Sounds like today (Friday, July 3) has been a rough day for big four-wheel-drive vehicles around here. KKTV reports a woman’s SUV rolled into Bear Creek after she got out to let her dog out.
Also today, there was some police scanner traffic about three or four Jeeps getting stuck on a road above the Air Force Academy. I didn’t catch which road, but I didn’t get the feeling search and rescue had any plans to rush up there.
UPDATE: The Jeeps will be stuck up there all night, after destroying a 50-foot-wide wetland and knocking down several trees on a road over a dam, I’m guessing either Northfield, Nichols or Stanley reservoir. Sounds like the drivers got a ride down, but they can count on a visit from a forest ranger first thing Saturday morning.
At the risk of sounding smug, here’s hoping the forest ranger brings his citation book.
Shouldn’t it be like getting caught with pot in your car? Get caught mauling the forest and they simply confiscate your stupid, jacked-up Jeep while they figure out what to prosecute you for.
Absolute turds. They should confiscate their vehicles.
