I’m spreading a rumor, but a rumor spread to me by the race director of the Sand Creek Fall Classic mountain bike race Saturday. He just e-mailed to say “Word is that Lance Armstrong is in town and may be “riding a mtb bike race.” Can’t confirm it.”
On some levels it makes no sense. Why would the best-known cyclist in the world pedal our little community race series. On the other hand, it makes perfect sense. Lance has been riding a number of mountain bike events in Colorado in the past few months. He has many friends in Colorado Springs including his coach, Chris Carmichael.
Jeez, maybe he is coming.
